Swedish-American Christmas FOOD

As I wait for some of our food to bake... I'll fill you in on our very Swedish American Christmas. It all started this morning with rice pudding porridge. After breakfast we went to the window and who did we see walking around outside, yes, Santa! He was kind enough to come upstairs and hand out a few packages and after opening them and saying our goodbyes he was on his way. So many kids to meet...

Then it was time to start cooking. While cooking we drank some glögg, ate some choclates and listened to some jazz. Some of the food was prepared yesterday but a lot of it was left for today. Here's the menu.

Late Lunch (3PM)
3 kinds of Herring
2 kinds of Salmon
Smoked Mackerel
Beet Salad
Pâté

Meatballs

Stewed kale with Pork belly
Jansson Temptaion

Sweet Potato Mash

Apple Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce
